I have been trying to paint the New Mexico desert where my mom grew up. This is one of several paintings that I have been working on.

On this painting,which I continue to paint over and over, I followed some of the tips and the palette suggestions on Carpenter's blog site, which was linked thru Sandy Maudlin's blog. Anyway,Carpenter had taken a Carol Carter workshop and the emphasis was on warm and cool colors and oh my goodness, as I am sure you are well aware of, Carter's paintings are delicious!; September 8, 2008 at 3:55 AM
