Soooo of course I couldn't wait. I thought about cropping but then I remembered my brand new oil pastels,a christmas present from my husband ,and I thought why not????? So I began to recklessy go forward, no direction known, except to get rid of the muddle on the left. A little pastel here a little watercolor pencil shavings there and well... it's been fun I think I will play with this painting a little more and try again.

New oil pastels, so nice.
I wonder what you do with watercolor pencil shavings?
Ruth, I shave the pencil shavings into wet paint in order to get texture and a deeper color. I have been reading Taking Risks with Watercolors by Trevana. It's a wonderful book filled with great ideas. Oh,when we were talking the other day about studios, yes I do have a space/studio of my own. David encouraged me to convert our sons bedroom into my art room. I love it. I don't have to worry about cleaning up projects before they are complete and it's really given me a place of my own. Do you have a space for writing and photography?
Wow! Great color!!
(I'm afraid I don't understand the question about unflagging on my blog, Cathy! If you want to email me more details, I'll try to answer!)
This is an absolutely beautiful painting you've created. I always admire those artists (that'll be you!) who have a way with colour.
Happy New Year!!
I love this.. It looks free... and that you had fun... hope everything in 2009 is fun for you...
wow! the colors are so vivid and beautiful. New toys are so fun to open and play with.
GREAT save. The painting was good but now you've moved it into exceptional. Love it.
