Productive day today. Working on developing a less defined style , allowing the watercolors to take me in the direction I need to go. I am not terribly crazy about this composition. The two flower in the center are too much. I think i will try this again.

Very pretty.. The loose style has worked out very well for this painting.. Very beautiful indeed..
I see what you mean about a somewhat awkward composition, but it's really not too bad. The colors in this are gorgeous! I think you have paired exactly the right pinks with greens to bring out the best in each.
Makes me feel happy when I look at it!
You achieved your goal of being looser--the background is lovely, so interesting. I see the vertical division--since it's so strong and even enhanced by the green line--as a design element: the two pink blossoms become mirror images! It's very exuberant!
Cathy!! Wow, this would be a fabulous painting on silk I can almost feel it on my skin...
Beautiful, light and luscious!
This painting is so vibrant yet, like you said, that green line is compelling to split the picture. To lessen the half way cut of the green line, maybe consider making a wider blue greenish vertical band from that top dark line on the upper center right over to the left, just past the halfway mark and including the existing green line. That wide band would be off center from top to bottom in the painting, located from the left of center, but wider over toward the right hand side and peek in and out of all those gorgeous colors/flowers in front of it. Darn, it's hard to put visual info into words. Hope this doesn't sound crazy. I love the painting and it's vitality.
Thanks Sandy, I will try this on this painting and then again on another. Wonderful idea. It's funny, my eye loves the backround of paintings and if not the backround my eye settles on particular colors and how they mingle with one another ,no matter how small.Maybe that's another way to expand on paintings, to take the part you love and do a redo.Thank you again.
