I added more value to the flowers and changed the greens. I also change the vase less pattern and the background color. I like this, espceially the pink veining in the leaves. I am still not satisfied with the color of the table the plant is sitting on I was thinking black, but I've never used it straight from the tube????
I changed the backround and flowers. Daffodils are new
I'm not sure what I think about any of these paintings. I will definitely change colors in the bottom picture and the second Iris is troublesome to me as well. I was thinking of painting color swatches (larger) to help me decide on large color block areas, say backgrounds, to help decide which way to go. The top Iris picture was painted this summer. I had to get some distance from it ,since it was reminiscent of a watercolor painting I did years past, when I revisited the painting I found I rather liked it. The trees were painted this fall and are quite unsuccessful , but as with anything I learned from it. Initially I used black marker to define the trunks then I played to my hearts content and well.... I learned.
It has been a long time since I have posted anything.... not sure why? I am in 3 art classes and enjoy am enjoying them immensely. I have more to post later. I am finishing some of my block prints today and I also have some new acrylics. I guess I could blame my lack of posting on the weather!
I HATE this painting. I have worked on it for days; cropping, painting, painting again and again, adding pastel now I admit defeat!!! (I must admit I did learn a thing or two... but still ugh) Good thing today is trash day. I guess I'll go shovel the mountain of snow of my patio so that it doesn't melt into our basement. Better yet, I'm of to the market to buy some fresh tulips ...
