So I couldn't help myself,using cut up mats I decided I would like the painting more if I cut it in half.So I did. Then I added watercolor pencil and pastel. At first I only liked the top without any additional adjustments,but after I worked on the bottom half the top looked dull,so I added just a bit of watercolor pencil and pastel. Now the colors are vibrant which makes up for the poor drawing on the yellow flower.
I need to walk away from this and then decide what comes next,if anything.

May I put in a plea for nothing more? I think the white space is just enough and the splatters are a perfect transition.
Your one piece of work makes a wonderful pair!! Its such fun to play in this way but I agree with Laura, simply leave them well alone now - please?? Gorgeous.

Hi Cathy. Thanks for noticing my new header! Just wanted to tell you: it's a close-up detail of a painting that did not work out so well ... but I did like the (rather flattened!) orange and the folds in the cloth, so I zoomed in and voila!
Cathy, thank you for your comment on my blog, your the second one that told me you visited the museum ... How wonderful! Love your paintings and have to smile when you say how you crop things ,, I do that so much too. sometimes a small spot in a painting will be just the right thing. You know , you could start out with a 16x20 and wind up with a 3x5 .. Love it.!!!
