Purple Haze

Purples Haze and a wish for spring

Below is a beginning painting of Iris. The last painting I did of Iris the paint was way too thick using mainly diox. purple. Now I seem am using a combination of magenta and Windsor blue or pink opera and cobalt violet in different combos. and it seems to be more lush and transparent.

Waiting for the next snow storm in Michigan to begin this evening, not too bad only 2-6 ":)

I always love your rich, bold colors! Your iris painting is lovely too--I find them SO hard!

... and if you left it as it is?

Everyone is painting bright spring flowers. I think they're all wishing for it to get here and thats the way to feel like it's just around the corner! Love your colorful piece! Even though I live in Florida, everything here is brown too!

Lush and transparent, that's for sure.

Did you get a snow day today? Don did. Me too. I stayed home and answered student emails from home.

Yes, spring, meet up.
