Finished

I took a second look at my Poppies this morning, added some more watercolor and pastel. Now it feels more finished to me.

The gardens in Michigan are really lovely this summer. Everything is so green from all of the rain. Our warm spring has many of our flowers blooming early. Does that mean the ugliest August ever.... scary

Pictures of my gardens.

I do, I do like the blue!

Your garden is so beautiful, Cathy. What a wonderful place for you to spread out and relax during your summers off.

I have heard that it will be a warm, wet one. I hope it will stay lovely through September at least!

Enjoy. xo

Your artistic instinct was better than mine. I would have left the bg white. You have added just enough variety and interest to make this painting even better :)

Wow, Cathy, nice job!! The background you've added is just right (an incredibly hard thing to do, I think, as an add-on)--it's beautifully transparent and enhances the reds' you're especially smart to leave some white, I think. Congrats!

What a pretty garden. Please send some rain our way, its been so dry here and the plants really need it. Happy to see another one of your beautiful paintings

I agree with RH. The background has added so much to the painting.

My first visit to your blog. i have been fascinated by the texture in the midst of the vibrant red colour. It gives a fantastic effect. Is it just water colours?
