Feast or Famine... a birds eye view

Mini narratives go through my head as i paint. Something like this... the bird is thinking, how can i save these berries, without them how will i survive the winter? I must remember my favorite bush, and tell my children so they can eat too.

Then it occurred to me that i could use some of my paintings as a writing prompt for my afternoon students? I think it sounds like fun,all kinds of good things could happen:)
Just added bird with yellow, gives it some lift I think:)

How do you accomplish such vivid colors...is it the type of paint or do you just not dilute the colors so much? How many layers of paint do you typically use in your paintings?

I like the idea of a story telling with art...beautiful! I would have missed the bird if you had not pointed it out. Are the streaks of yellow in water colour or pastels?

Cathy, I think every one is fascinated with your colors. They are bright and eye catching. Really impressive.
