Painting this was a bit of a challenge. I find about half way through a painting i get sort of lost? This time i stepped away for a few days. My inspiration has been and is my garden, which is just beautiful this year. Filled with natures surprises, such as self seeding unplanned Cleome. Back to the painting, I was stumped so i sectioned of the painting and began working on small areas. this gave me more an understanding. At any rate i came up with this and as i was painting it dawned on me that it has rather a tissue paper collage sort of feel. I think it was the yellow gamboge (D.S). Wonderful paint... Glad to be back!

That is GORGEOUS! Wow!
Another beauty. I don't know how avoid making mud when you mix such beautiful colors together.
Hi Cathy, so glad you're back and show us such a wonderful painting! I am so amazed at how you do all those vibrant colors, fabulous!
Lovely to see you back - and with such a beautiful painting, too xx
And it's lovely to have you back! And with such a colourful and vibrant painting too :0)
Oh my goodness this is beautiful...the color is rich and dramatic. Well done!!
Cathy, I'm glad you are back, giving us energy with this beautiful burst of vibrant color. Your garden must be a very nice place to spend time...
Glad you're back too. I don't imagine you are sitting out in your garden painting though, with the skeeter air force. The painting really is wonderful and tissue-paper like!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
