Yesterday-Today

This is yesterday's watercolor in acrylic. I am still working on it but thought I would post it and than get some distance; leave it for an hour or two and return this afternoon.(Did I mention it has been subzero in the Midwest and that I haven't left the house due to deplorable road conditions!?)  I used a table top easel and am realizing I may need to invest in a bigger easel. I have a portable easel but I have issues with its stability. The top painting is a one that I have been playing with for days. I seem to prefer edges that are not as strong leaving the shape to be defined by the person viewing the painting. I believe the term is painterly.

The top painting is just gorgeous! My favourite. But then I´m a sucker for close -ups of flowers :)

I've heard about the "polar vortex" cold out in the midwest and don't envy you. It's been cold here but nothing like what you guys have had.

Lovely, luscious, painterly flowers. I agree with AK who said all your work is painterly. I would love to see your work in a show. The whole wall filled with your vibrant paintings.

We have had similar road conditions most of this winter.. i feel like I am living under house arrest!!
Art does make it bearable though doesn't it.
