Wow what a challenge. This is it. I have to admit I really struggled with the composition and color. It appears that the full tree needs more dark colors . I don't know if I will attempt to alter it again. I hear jingle bells ringing! On to a new theme:0) Well I did decide to add some more value after all. I used just a touch of prussian blue.(painting at the top)I think it works .

Hi Cathy. I love all the colors in your VSD and the light, airy feeling; it's very impressionistic.
The close of the leaves is just fantastic; I love the loose, confident way you handled them.
Cathy, I really like your colorful renditions. The darks in the first painting look good to me and I like the edition of the cast shadow. The close up of the leaves is lovely too.
Hi Cathy, really nice interpretation, and it doesn't look like you struggled at all. Out of the three I'm drawn to the second, the study of the leaves.
I like all three. Each has its own point of interest. I think I would put all three together in one frame. It would really let the shape of the tree come through. You're right, it was a hard subject, but you've done a nice job with it.
Hello Cathy,What a nice feel these have to them!
I really like the crop of the leaves.
Wonderful colours.
Your painting fairly sings an autumn song!
Beautiful colors, Cathy! The close-up of the leaves in the second version has a lovely, dreamy, sumi-brush quality to it.
I love the closeup of the leaves too. And the addition of blue is brilliant!
Wow - this SINGS! I really like your color palette and agree that the prussian blue added finesse.
Love the blue and the way you handled the paint.
Love the fiery autumnal colors you chose. Loose and breezy feel, just like the season.
