This weekend has been all about decorating for the holidays. My favorite. The garden is still working for me, the holly is beautiful and the red twig dogwoods are as appealing in the winter as any other season. They all look great stuffed into window boxes and urns, add a few lights and the season begins. Today I hope to paint. I painted the Poinsettia last year. It was a challenge to say the least.

Beautiful painting, Cathy!
This is lovely.. the shades and variations in the leaves.. wonderful job..
Glad to hear your Christmas spirit!! and your home-grown holly berries sound wonderful. perfect
The poinsettia leaves are gorgeous. Oh yes, I love red twig dogwoods in the winter. I'll bet your urns and boxes look splendid.
I love red twig dogwoods! wish I had some (my yard--or maybe it's me--is hopeless!). Your poinsettias are fantastic--I love how you rendered the veins: it's not too much (which I think is the danger).
this is incredible. no kidding.
this is my desktop background now.
thanks Rhonda,
Gwen Ruth Laura, I love the gardens in all seasons. Red twigs and holly are easy to grow and relatively hardy.
Chris I am humbled and enjoy!
I love the colors in your poinsettias, nicely done. Laura is right on with her comment about the veins.
